We Love Tongs too! And twitter

June 21st, 2008 J Posted in Alert, Random No Comments »

I’ve found someone who is entirely involved with their utensils.  Mainly a fan of BBQ Tongs, but @hshellen state this on her blog ilovetongs.com:

My name is Heather. I am an unprofessional chef and a professional food lover. Tongs are my favorite kitchen utensil. I can’t cook a meal without them. I own at least five pair.

Yup, twitter helped find another interesting blog.  Twitter is a microblogging platform about being where you are and talking about what you’re doing.   Here is a sample of  just what 140 characters can be about from @spatially:

There’s a line to check in at the gaylord Texan. Really at 11:30???!!?

The Twitter stream is filled with these statement of where and what. this two paragraph intro from @lanceulanoff pretty much covers it:

Some people search for the meaning of life. Me? I’ve been searching for the meaning of the microblogging platform and Web 2.0 darling Twitter. Oddly, there is a correlation: We live life and then many of us microblog the tiniest nuances of daily living on Twitter.com….

If you haven’t visited Twitter, you should. Reading the public front page (you can access this “Everyone” page only after you’ve set up your own account) is like standing in the middle of New York City’s Grand Central Terminal and having every single person pause to tell you, in 140 characters or less, exactly what they’re doing or thinking at that moment. On Twitter, every action, thought, incident, and so forth is seemingly recorded. And you’re the audience.

While the rest of the piece is somewhat negative I checked his profile and perhaps he should attempt to follow some folks and see how that whole karma thing works.  That’s the random twitter piece thanks to heather.

As an aside, or is that in closing?  Whatever we have a facebook group, you could join.

Everyday there is a new one….

Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems. In healthy people, salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

March 2nd, 2008 sheryl Posted in Alert, Current News, Recipes No Comments »

Pill’s really?

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (AP) — Gorton’s Inc. recalled about 1,000 cases of frozen fish in 10 states Friday after confirming a Pennsylvania customer found pills in her food.

Gorton’s said it ordered the recall as a precaution while a laboratory works to determine the nature of the pills. Those tests should be complete early next week.

“Obviously product alteration is a very serious matter,” said Jud Reis, vice president of marketing for the company, based in Gloucester, Massachusetts “We are conducting a full investigation into the source of the problem.”

Always recommend fresh meat when cooking.
